Kissing is one of the common method of transferring MONO (infectious Mononucleosis disease) usually is caused by the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV). Typically, most of these symptoms are present mononucleosis in adolescents and young adults with mononucleosis. In children, sometimes not obvious, so the disease can go unnoticed. According to research, the incubation period of the virus mononucleosis lasts 4-8 weeks, although children can be faster.
Symptoms of kissing Disease:
*Swollen lymph nodes in the neck and armpits.
*Loss of appetite.
Many of these symptoms (such as fever and sore throat) decreases in a couple of weeks, but others, like fatigue, swollen glands and spleen can last longer.
1-As a viral disease, antibiotics do not work and there is no specific treatment for mononucleosis. Therefore, it is recommended to rest and drink plenty of fluids to relieve symptoms.
2-Drink plenty of water and fruit juices, to relieve fever and sore throat. Take over the counter pain medications, such as ibuprofen or paracetamol as you feel is necessary to relieve fever and headache. Please note, if your child is under the age of 16 years has mononucleosis. Do not give aspirin because it can cause a dangerous disease, Reye’s syndrome.
3-Gargle with salt water several times a day to relieve a sore throat.
If you are experiencing some of the symptoms listed above, you probably kiss disease. To make sure, consult a doctor, and, of course, to call again if the symptoms do not disappear within a week or two and a good rest and a healthy diet.
